A New Oxygen Sensor Impacts Your Car!
A defective or sluggish oxygen sensor can cause a variety of issues, like decreased engine performance. Replacing a defective O2 sensor helps ensure your engine is constantly monitored and operating efficiently, while maximizing performance.
The ideal air-fuel ratio of a gasoline engine is 14.7 parts air to 1 part fuel, which is known as complete combustion. The vehicle’s engine control unit uses an O2 sensor to regulate air-fuel mixture by checking the oxygen content in a vehicle’s exhaust. This results in fuel savings.
The catalytic converter is responsible for removing the harmful emissions from your vehicle’s exhaust. A defective oxygen sensor can cause your catalytic converter to fail prematurely. Replacing a catalytic converter can cost thousands of dollars, significantly more than most standard oxygen sensor replacements.
If complete combustion is not maintained, other chemical compounds can form in large amounts. These include greenhouse gases, carbon monoxide and excess hydrocarbons. Replacing a defective oxygen sensor is the most effective way to control the combustion process and reduce emissions.

Perfect replacement for 2010 BMW 328i 4 door sedan, not xdrive
My 2010 BMW 328i 4 door sedan (not xdrive) started throwing a Service Engine Soon light. It would turn on and off, OBD II reader showed code P2098 Post Catalyst Fuel Trim Bank 2. This code means the O2 sensor after the catalytic converter is bad, or there is a crack in the cat.I replaced the oem O2 sensor with this sensor, cleared codes with OBD II reader, and the issue is gone. Install was easy since the post cat bank 2 O2 sensor is by far the easiest sensor to access and replace. One light tap with a mallet on a 21mm wrench broke it loose, then unscrewed it by hand. No rust penetrating spray needed in my case.This Bosch sensor appears to be an identical OEM replacement, and it came precoated with antiseize compound.Warning – all 4 O2 sensors are different in my car. The pre/post bank 1/2 have slightly different cables and connectors. Make sure you get the correct O2 sensor. Bosch 16414 is only for Bank 2 Post cat.

Best Price and OEM Replacement
This Bosch O-2 sensor is the same as the one available from our BMW dealer for more than twice the price and substantially more than local auto shops and wholesale suppliers in the Washington DC area. Easy installation with the correct tool and clear accessibility . Remember the upstream (front) and downstream (rear) 0-2 sensors are different, so order accordingly .

Fixed P2098 on 2011 BMW 328
Check engine light was coming on after highway driving with code P2098. (Light would go off if only driving around town for a couple days). Replaced sensor. Have driven daily on highway for over a month now. No more check engine light, P2098 code has not returned. Fairly easy to replace. No special tools were needed.
